Why do you move?
Movement is the cornerstone of my physical & mental well-being; I am my best when movement is priority in my daily life. My younger self often took for-granted the ease and privilege of movement. Now with more life experience in this body of mine, I am fascinated by finding the perfect equation to achieve better movement patterns, optimal recovery, more speed, and strength.
Favorite quote:
“There is no such thing as 'too late' in life.”
- Mitch Albom
What can I expect when practicing with you?
Space and silence for YOU. In a world full of noise and clutter, the benefits of silence are often taken for granted. My goal is to speak with brevity when leading class to provide you with the space to declutter the mind, focus on the breath, tune into your body… really whatever it is you need at that moment in time!
Please don’t let silence scare you – there will be music and company .
Bio
evergreen \EV-er-green\ adjective: universally and continually relevant; not limited in applicability to a particular event or date.
I find the adaptability of an evergreen tree synonymous to life; I want my body and mind to withstand the test of time. Remaining relevant for myself embodies both 1. an appraisal and acceptance of where I find myself now and 2. an opportunity to propel towards what I will become. The yoga practice continues to serve as my most universal tool – and remains a staple in my life. My mat allows me to adjust my sails - whether it be my mind, body, or both on any given day. Ultimately, the space in between the four corners of my mat, always nudges me in the right direction.
Teaching from experience is important to me - whether it is helping you prepare for the physical demands of the golf swing or leading you through a series of movements – I lead from what I know and will remain a student in what I don’t. Whether I am standing in front of the room or on my yoga mat next to you, I am grateful and excited for the opportunity to share an experience together.
Off the mat, I define myself as a financial strategist - passionate about cultivating collaborative environments that enable differentiated business outcomes. When I step away from the computer, you often find me running towards movement or retreating home. Movement comes in many forms for me – I am an avid golfer & runner and a regular at the local fitness center and of course SWEAT. I am always upgrading my home, and my two pups, Miles & Mario, are always the star of the show. I have been fortunate in my travels - exploring new places, food, and music remain in focus.
